SUMMARY:Sewing: Japanese Rice Pouch
DESCRIPTION:Two-Day Workshop:  March 23rd and March 30th: 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM \nA modern Japanese rice pouch is a modern take on a traditional pouch used in Japan to carry rice offerings to religious ceremonies or to hold gifts. They were sewn in a patchwork style using a mix of fabrics and closed with a drawstring cord. \nWe will be sewing small pieces of fabric together using measurements and a pattern and decorating them with Sashiko (little stabs) Japanese embroidery stitches.   The pouch will have a lining and a pocket inside\, along with a drawstring closure. \nAll materials and supplies for this class are included.

He is an artistic patrimony resource person and an Art world investigative journalist with an art crimes column in the online newspaper La Voce di New York.
