Are you looking for a unique and creative way to express yourself?
In this 8-week monotype printmaking class, students will learn the basics of printmaking using a monotype technique. Monotypes are unique, one-of-a-kind prints made by drawing or painting directly onto a plate and then transferring the image onto paper through the use of a press.
Students will learn how to prepare and use the printing plate and explore various techniques for creating texture and depth in their prints. They will also learn how to mix and apply inks and how to register and print their plates.
By the end of the class, students will have created a series of original monotype prints and will have a deeper understanding of the monotype printmaking process.
