Take the Stage: Acting & Improv

Step into the spotlight and discover your voice in Take the Stage, a performing arts class at duCret Center of Art focused on building confidence, creativity, and strong communication skills.

This acting and improv class strengthens public speaking, teamwork, and stage presence in a supportive studio environment. Whether you are new to theater or returning with experience, you will be challenged at your level and encouraged to grow.

Students will explore:

• The core rules of improv and stage terminology
• Acting fundamentals and character development
• Public speaking and vocal projection
• Creative thinking and scene building
• Movement, blocking, and pantomime
• Dramatic structure and script analysis
• Monologue development and rehearsal techniques
• Self evaluation and performance growth

By the end of the session, students will confidently perform improvised and scripted scenes, develop original and believable characters, understand stage movement and dramatic structure, and collaborate effectively as part of a theater ensemble. Each student will present a rehearsed monologue or scene in a final performance.
