Quilted Hexagon Star:

Saturday, May 11th  & 18th, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Beginner Quilt

Beginner Level: basic sewing or quilting skills required. This easy hexagon star is a great project for beginners to intermediate-level quilters. The quilt has prairie points, three borders, and a neatly finished edge that looks like binding, but the technique taught is much easier than applying binding.

Reversible Bucket Hat: 

Saturday, May 11th 12 – 4 PM

This is for teens and adults at intermediate skill levels.  Must have sewing experience.

Now that summer is nearly here, a bucket hat is cute and practical, and this one is reversible. In this class, you will learn how to cut out the pattern, sew straight and curved seams, use top stitch, edge stitch, and press techniques. This hat is great to make for yourself and your family members. The pattern and instructions are provided in class.

Summer Chic: Mastering the Shift Dress

Saturday: June 8, 15, 22, 29, & July 6

9:30 AM to 12:30 PM

This is a great dress class to learn more about garment construction skills.  The classic shift dress is short and slightly A-line with a center back invisible zipper, bust darts, neckline facings, and a choice of sleeveless, short, or long set-in sleeves.  There are a lot of techniques to learn with this dress, which can be made casual or dressy.  Perfect for summer or any season.

Sewing – Modern Japanese Rice Pouch: 

Saturday March 23rd and 30th:  12:00 PM to 3:30 PM

A great project for any level or those with basic sewing skills

A modern Japanese rice pouch is a modern take on a traditional pouch used in Japan to carry rice offerings to religious ceremonies or to hold gifts.  They were sewn in a patchwork style using a mix of fabrics and closed with a drawstring cord.  We will be sewing small pieces of fabric together using measurements and a pattern and decorating them with Sashiko (little stabs) Japanese embroidery stitches.     All materials and supplies for this class are included.

Spring Cardigan

Beginner/Advanced Beginner level

Take your sewing skills to the next level and learn how to sew with stretch knit fabric while making a cardigan perfect for spring.   In this class, you will learn how to take body measurements, make basic pattern alterations (if necessary), sew with stretch knit fabric, sew set-in sleeves, gathers, and more.

Beginner Quilting: Snowball Pillowcase:  

Fridays, April 19th, 26th, and May 3rd, 10th:  10:00 AM to 12:30 PM

4 Sessions – limited class size to 4 students

This class is great for beginners interested in quilting because it requires little investment in time and materials. Students must have basic sewing and machine skills. The snowball is a deceptively easy and versatile quilt block for beginners.

    A 100% Refund will be given if you withdraw from the workshop 1 week before the start of the workshop. No refunds will be given after that time.  If possible, a workshop credit will be issued at the discretion of the center.  Workshop Credits are only valid for the next workshop. All refund requests must be made in writing and sent to info@ducret.edu.  Workshop drops will not be accepted by phone.
