Artful Explorers is an enchanting and imaginative drawing and painting class designed to ignite the artistic spirits of children aged 8 to 11.
Guided by skilled and supportive instructors, kids learn foundational drawing techniques, experiment with watercolors, acrylics, and pastels, and delve into the magic of storytelling through art. With an emphasis on playful experimentation and fostering a love for art, Artful Explorers empowers children to unlock their boundless creativity, hone their skills, and build confidence as they bring their unique visions to life on canvas.
Please wear clothes that can get paint on them – just in case!
Barbara McElheny:
Barbara is a skilled artist and an elementary art specialist at Princeton Montessori School. She holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, American Montessori certification, and an MS in Elementary Education.
Barbara has led art programs that use the creative process for self-expression and skill-building techniques across various mediums. She strives to integrate individualized approaches that support imagery and the student’s artistic growth.
Barbara was committed to oil painting at an early age. Her landscape images capture the beauty of nature and the lightness of movement within time as it is affected by light.
She exhibits in local galleries and teaches after-school art lessons in her community.
