Two-Day Workshop: March 23rd and March 30th: 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM
A modern Japanese rice pouch is a modern take on a traditional pouch used in Japan to carry rice offerings to religious ceremonies or to hold gifts. They were sewn in a patchwork style using a mix of fabrics and closed with a drawstring cord.
We will be sewing small pieces of fabric together using measurements and a pattern and decorating them with Sashiko (little stabs) Japanese embroidery stitches. The pouch will have a lining and a pocket inside, along with a drawstring closure.
All materials and supplies for this class are included.
