Class Description:
Discover the art of sculpting the human figure in clay in this comprehensive figure sculpting class designed for all skill levels. Through hands-on instruction, students will learn essential techniques in clay sculpting, mold making, and casting, gaining skills in anatomical study, form, and expression. This course will guide students through every step, from creating a stable armature to building up clay layers, refining detail, and adding life-like textures.
Participants will explore various methods to capture human proportions and gestures, while also diving into the process of mold-making to create casts of their completed sculptures. By the end of this course, students will walk away with a strong foundation in figurative sculpture, their own clay figure sculptures, and an understanding of how to create multiple castings from their original works.
