Frank Falotico

Frank Falotico was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. Frank was interested in art from a very early age.

After high school, he started taking classes at the Art Student’s League in N.Y.C. that exposed him to a world of art disciplines and styles, and for the next two years, he learned from some exceptional artists/instructors and fellow students. While at the League, he attended lectures by Robert Beverly Hale, the premier teacher of artistic anatomy and drawing of his time. That experience sparked a lifelong interest in learning and ultimately teaching anatomy to artists. All the while, he continued to work summers at Adventure Cartoons and then Paramount Animation Studio.

Frank then attended the duCret School of Art; those three years provided him with a strong foundation in the fundamentals of art and again allowed him to study with some extraordinary artists/teachers and fellow students. After graduating, he completed his education at Monmouth College, graduating with a B.A. in art.

After college, I started working for a display design and manufacturing company as an artist/illustrator, preparing drawings and display assembling instruction material for the sales department and ads for trade journals. Also, at this time, he began teaching an evening life drawing class at duCret, eventually becoming a full-time instructor at the school. Over the last forty-five years, Frank has been teaching and working as an administrator and continues teaching at duCret.

Frank has taught the following course at duCret drawing, painting, rendering, life drawing, sculpture and anatomy,

Frank has won numerous awards for his work. He has participated in multiple group shows, including Salmagundi Club, N.Y.C., Art Students League, N.Y.C., Swain Galleries, Pastel Society of N.J., duCret School of Art, Monmouth College, Rutgers University, Summit Art Center, Ridgewood Center and School of Art, Rahway Art Center, Union County and Somerset County Art shows and the Franklin Township Library.

He has conducted numerous talks and demos in high schools throughout the state and served as an adjudicator for Union County, Somerset County and State Teen Arts Festivals.   Frank is on the advisory board of Monmouth County and Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School art programs.
