Welcome to “Landscape Hudson River School: Intro to Oil Painting”! In this class, we embark on a journey through the picturesque landscapes of the Hudson River School artists, exploring their techniques and philosophies while mastering the fundamentals of oil painting.
Drawing inspiration from luminaries such as Thomas Cole, Frederic Edwin Church, and Albert Bierstadt, students will learn to capture the sublime beauty of nature, from rugged mountains to serene rivers, through the transformative power of oil paint.
Throughout the course, students will delve into the principles of composition, color theory, and brushwork, honing their skills through hands-on exercises and guided projects.
